Competing from year one
Partnerships with clubs that have surplus players give Génesis a competitive squad with no financial risk.

Basketball is the flagship sport of Génesis Sport Clube. In the 2026/27 season the club competes in the National Basketball Championship with Petro de Luanda's second youth team, under a formal partnership between the two organisations — at no financial cost to Génesis.
The team competes under the Génesis name, crest and colours: black and yellow.
A partnership where everyone wins
- For Petro de Luanda: senior-level playing time for its young talent, speeding up their development without taking places in the first team.
- For Génesis: competing at national level from year one, gaining visibility, building a competitive record and attracting sponsors with no financial risk.
- For Angolan basketball: more competitive teams, career continuity for young athletes and a stronger national championship.

How it works
The athletes are Petro de Luanda youth players, registered by Génesis with the Angolan Basketball Federation under the regulations while keeping their sporting contract with Petro. The coaching staff is appointed by Petro, in coordination with the Génesis Director of Sport, and training takes place in the arena and gym provided by the partner.
Sporting management is overseen by a joint Monitoring Committee, with two representatives from each side, which meets every month.
What comes next?
The partnership is the first step. Next, Génesis plans to open a mini-basketball school and build its own youth teams.
